Bangkok-based Cosmic Tiger was set up in 2019 as a music fanzine to collate and share star-gazing sounds and musical learnings with like-minded beings from across the galaxy. The much-loved psychedelic despatch has now manifested a label arm, and launches with a re-mastered digital release of label founder Rocco Universal's 'Fleeting Eternity EP' – which was previously only available on vinyl.

Rocco Universal is the loose-limbed alter-ego of producer, DJ, and journalist Patrizio Cavaliere. A committed crate-digger whose musical journeying runs at least two decades deep, Patrizio has habitually travelled the planet playing his expansive sounds to starry-eyed dancers, sunset lovers, and nocturnal adventurers. His career path has been long and winding, taking in multiple detours and not-so-shortcuts along the way. In between bursts of production and fully-booked DJ dates, he's periodically taken time out to run music projects with disenfranchised communities, landscape overgrown gardens, and regularly contribute copy to numerous international music and travel magazines. He's released cosmically-charmed sounds on labels including Leng, Kolour, and Midnight Riot, and has performed for festivals and promoters including Wonderfuit, Turf London, Fever105, and secretsundaze.

Fleeting Eternity was written during a year spent living in Tokyo and was inspired by a show performed alongside the Lonestar Productions gang at quasi-mythical Harajuku venue, Bonobo. Armed with only a Korg Minilogue, a drum machine, and a guitar part he'd recorded a year or so earlier from his then neighbour Cliff Ward, Rocco Universal spent a series of sleepless nights crafting the proto-house groove. The Italo-flecked track is powered by an irresistible bass hook and astral-leaning synth stabs, solidified by a tight machine rhythm and energetic percussion, enlivened throughout by Ward's hypnotic guitar licks. On the virtual flipside, 'October' sees Rocco in introspective mood, with dreamy synth layers intertwined over deep bass and driving conga hits. The cut mesmerises as it unfolds, with its strange-but-beautiful lead melody appearing through the meditative haze, before making way for a heads-down and utterly compelling groove section.

Following its vinyl-only release in 2018, the EP established itself as an esoteric classic among a selection of refined selectors – generating plays on Beats In Space Radio, ringing out into summer skies at Secret Garden Party, and soaring over hazy ocean horizons at Potato Head Bali, where it became something of a twilight anthem. Among those who showing love are a wildly eclectic band of supporters, including Dimitri From Paris, Jacques Renault, Soul Clap, Jasper James, Catz n Dogz, Lexx, Max Essa, Pete Herbert, Pontchartrain, Felix Dickinson, Pezzner, Bottin, Gene Farris, Artwork, Julian Sanza, among many others.
